UNTIE Trainings is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider under Category A as well as the Florida Board of Massage Therapy.

 Course contents, requirements, pricing and availability are subject to change without prior notification.

 

 

The Basic course develops skill in the technique as applied to chronic and recurrent pain and injuries. Helps beginners and advanced practitioners to assess and treat the body with a dynamic, logical, soft tissue orientation for use in conjunction with other procedures. Classes are 50% lecture/demonstration and 50% experiential and hands-on technique.

 

In the 30 hour Basic you will learn to...

• increase sensitivity and perception •

• evaluate soft tissue pathology •

• assess postural and functional limitations •

• determine underlying causes of pain •

• gently release deep tissues without pressure •

The Advanced course provides a comprehensive look at structure and function, including passive assessment and changing habitual patterns which perpetuate chronic pain. The cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions of the spine, the sacroiliac joint and the pelvis along with the anterior and the lateral head, neck and trunk muscles are studied individually. Symmetrics, a gentle method of awareness based exercise for self help and patient support, highlights this course.

In the 30 hour Advanced you will learn to...

• develop individualized session plans •

• use charts to monitor patient progress •

• apply UNTIE as a primary treatment procedure •

• advanced assessment and applications •

UNTIE Practitioner Requirements

State licensure or National Certification as health care provider (LMT, MT, PT, DC, RN, MD, etc)

Attend both Basic and Advanced Courses two times

40 hours of outside, documented Clinical Practicum using UNTIE as the primary treatment procedure

Written and practical exam

250 hours of outside, documented Clinical Practicum using UNTIE as the primary treatment procedure

Submit audio or video recording of simulated course presentation

Oral examination by Senior UNTIE Instructor

Cost for 30 Hour Trainings

$450 per person

On site accommodations are available at an additional cost of $300 for one or $480 for two.


Schedule for 30 Hour Key West Trainings

Wednesday from 5:00PM - 9:00PM, Thursday from 9:00AM - 5:00PM, Friday from 9:00AM - 1:00PM,

Sunday from 5:00PM - 9:00PM, Monday from 9:00AM - 5:00PM and Tuesday from 9:00AM - 1:00PM

This schedule provides ample time to relax and enjoy the fabulous Florida Keys
